The subject of this photo collection is the mission, rather than a single particular aircraft. This set - named "Hammerhead" after the leader Emmerian 35th Bomber Squadron squadron featured in the photos - attempts to capture the scale of battle for the liberation of San Loma. Formation flight, deploying decoys against air defenses and air-to-air interception are featured throughout the collection.
The deployment of allied strategic bombers usually results in a mandatory escort mission in any combat flight game. The multi-mission system in Ace Combat 6 does away with making bomber escort mandatory and goes a step farther by allowing the player to direct the bomber squadron's actions after they've completed their initial objective. Being able to command an entire formation of these massive aircraft against ground targets is as loud and visually impressive as one might assume, making them the ultimate anti-ground Allied Attack unit in the game.
