The latest updates about the Ikaros translation project are now available. With translation of materials from Japanese to English now being handled TaskForce 23, new page translations and considerable updates to existing translated material are here. For those that do not know, TaskForce 23 is also responsible for the Ace Combat Zero Perfect Guide: Ace Pilot Profiles and the Ace Combat 6 Guide: Materials translations that are available on Project: Lighthouse. Before beginning translation on chapter 2, chapter 1 will also under go review with corrections applied to it afterward.
We are excited to announce that a representative from Project: Lighthouse is going to Gamescom 2018 to get some hands-on experience with Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. On August 22nd, 2018, photos and video will be taken during the event and posted on our Central HQ Discord server, along with our Twitter and Facebook social media accounts. Plans for a livestream on the Lighthouse Twitch.TV channel are in the works as well.
The representative travelling to Gamescom is the Chief German Translator for Project: Lighthouse:
Message from Representative
Hello, my screen name is Belkan Government. I´ll go to Gamescom in Cologne to bring you the news I can get and share my experiences with Ace Combat 7. At Gamescom, I hope that I have many chances to get my hands on the demo since I wanna get as much experience on the game as I can. Furthermore, I hope that our dear Mr. Kono will be there. We from Project Lighthouse wanna give him our thanks for creating so many great games.
After Gamescom, a photo report will be made available on our website. It will contain details about our representative’s experiences with the Ace Combat 7 demo and at Gamescom in general. More information about this trip will be made available as the event nears.
The first update for the month is here. Update July-2018-1 is the first step towards an entirely new level of Lighthouse operations and content creation seen on our website. Ribbon-Blue, part of the administrative staff of Lighthouse, discusses the July upgrades and explains changes that were gradually made over time in June:
A quick update:
This update comes by way of Ribbon-Blue, fresh off of coordinating with Ace Combat Fan on our Ikaros in the Sky translation efforts. Between all of the scanning and coordination for three languages, research related to other flight games and planning future articles, the general work flow became completely disrupted. As I clean up my computer files, so to do I clean up the general desktop work area I use for Lighthouse related projects.
First and foremost, clearing the clutter and beginning the process of getting preparing scans for Ikaros chapter 2 ready. After the scans are complete, once again Ace Combat Fan and I will begin getting them to the translator and starting English translation work. As of the time of this post, I can officially say that work on chapter 2 has begun.
On a related note, Project: Lighthouse received a copy of the Ikaros prologue in Bahasa Indonesia from Otomo Kazuki. We have added this translation to our Ikaros area with their permission but feel free to keep an eye on their own blog as well. Thank you so much for that, Otomo.
It's wonderful to see that even people outside of the Lighthouse workshop are contributing to make sure as many fans as possible can enjoy Ikaros in the Sky.
