"U.N. Spacy" by Yuki Nishimura
With Macross being a large player in fighter jet fiction a UN Spacy scheme makes sense. Though the selection of the VF-1J scheme leads to more than a few questions for those what know Macross, and a bit plain for those who don't. A well-made profile that didn't have the push.
"Akula Custom" by Carmago
A visual history lesson using a cut idea of Markov piloting a Su-47 Berkut before the reveal of the PAK-FA (now Su-57); points for use of lore. The cold splinter colors and Akula's signature shark mouth lends well to the Berkut design flow, but it just got edged out of the top two.
"Cruzeiro du Sul" by Hueman
The winner. A striking blue and white scheme. Taking inspiration from Aurelia and it's real-world counterparts, it fits Ace Combat X's motif well, giving Gryphus 1 an experimental Ace vibe that other aces also carry. Cruzeiro caught first place with 0.4 on the average score tie-breaker vote to cross the finish and win the first Project Lighthouse skin contest.
