Greetings Ace Combatants,
I hope we haven’t been keeping you waiting too long to hear from us! Between the long await for the announcement of Ace Combat 7’s release date, E3 2018 just around the corner, the new demo for Project: Wingman landing, and the myriad of moving parts within moving parts that is our ever-expanding list of projects… finding time to update everyone on what’s been going on is nothing short of miracle work! However, you won’t hear any complaints or excuses from us… and we’re more than happy to announce that some of the projects we’ve launched have come to fruition.
First up: Ikaros in the Sky is getting its next update!
If this is the first time hearing about it, here is a recap to catch up:
We at Project: Lighthouse began efforts to translate the Light Novel Ace Combat: Ikaros in the Sky back in December of 2017 as initially an English Only venture due to the limitations of our staff at the time. Since then, we’ve been able to expand our membership to such a point where we are able to translate Ikaros into Spanish and Portuguese as well. However, the key here is the ability to initially translate the story from its native Japanese to English in order to easily re-translate the story from there, with our personal goal being that the story is translated with as minimal amounts of localization and as much loyalty to the original as we can. To that end, Lighthouse needed a dedicated Translator from Japanese to English.
Enter Ace Combat Fan.
Announcement at 3:22
Learning about certain troubles we have been experiencing regarding finding a dedicated Japanese to English Translator for the past while, Ace Combat Fan and Lighthouse have entered into a partnership which will allow us to provide for the rest of the Ace Combat Community a consistent release on the translations of Ikaros in the Skies! Keep an eye out for our next installments in both Ikaros Fan Translation Spanish and Portuguese!
Next up: We are proud to announce our next big interview!
Through our wide net of connections, we were able to contact and request a special interview with Ace Combat: Northern Wings Aircraft Designer and Artist Costin Benescu, who was able to forward our questions to other members of the Northern Wings development team to answer questions as well! Now, Northern Wings may be one of the… less appreciated titles within the Ace Combat franchise, however, we at Lighthouse believe that covering all aspects of the development and creation of any of the titles within this franchise we hold dear is a story worth its weight in Gold and worth sharing to the rest of the world. Sure enough, this interview has provided a wealth of knowledge and information that has been beyond worth it.
Special Shout Out to Namco Bandai: Thank you for allowing Costin to speak to us in regards to his part in the creation of this entry of Ace Combat.
Third: Its time that Lighthouse expands its horizons and light once again!
It has been a long time coming, everyone, but we are proud to announce the next member of the Lighthouse Community Family: Lighthouse Europa Headquarters! Those of you who are members of our Discord Servers have probably noticed that we have changed the names of each server to better show the connection and unity of each of our branches:
Lighthouse Central Headquarters is our Official English Language Server
Lighthouse Far East Headquarters is our Official Japanese Language Server
Lighthouse Latino Headquarters is our Official Latin American Server
Lighthouse Europa Headquarters: our Official European Server
We hope that all Aces who hail across Europe will find their way onto Europa and enjoy the same fun and love for Ace Combat with the rest of the Lighthouse family!
Finally: Our Master Article Crafter, Ultra Director Ribbon Blue, has released a review of an obscure but fascinating gem of an Aviation Video Game, Simple Series 2000 Vol.117: The Zero Fighter!
Well that’s all Aces! Keep checking those skies (and our updates on Social Media) for the next wave of Updates, because we promise you, the next wave is coming real soon.
